The Team
Edward Parker - After leaving the Army, and spending some time in the City, Edward set up the business in Norfolk in 2003. His aim was to establish a wine merchant which provided a full range of services to private individuals who enjoyed wine. Since the start, there has been a strong emphasis on identifying wine growers and producers who would be willing to work with Edward and the team in order to provide customers wine which is of the highest possible standard. Edward's main responsibilty is as the wine buyer, although the whole team is very involved in approving the wines we subsequently sell. Email: edward@edwardparkerwines.co.uk.
Derek Smedley MW - Derek joined the wine trade in 1961 and became a Master of Wine in 1968. He started work with Harvey's and then Gilbey's and then bcame the wine buyer at Whitbread's. He set up his own wine merchant business in 1985 which he subsequently sold in 1999. Today as well as being the co-chairman of the International Wine Challenge, he acts as a consultant to the London Mayoralty, the Guildhall, a number of livery companies and other institutions in London and Cambridge. He has a great passion for English wines and acts as a consultant to Warden Abbey Vineyards in Bedfordshire (wines which we are delighted to offer). sales@edwardparkerwines.co.uk.
