Domaine Yves Darviot, Beaune, Burgundy

Yves is a very good friend of Edward Parker Wines, and his wines are such a pleasure. Sadly 2006 was Yves last vintage as he has decided to retire, but we know who has acquired his vines and they plan to continue to use the services of Yves' very talented consultant wine-maker Marc Cugney, and we hope from 2007 to be able to offer the wines from the same vineyards under another name.

But luckily we have managed to secure a number of wines from Yves' stock and we will be able to offer his wines well into 2009. Many overlook the wines of Beaune and seek out more fashionable names. As always with Burgundy, it's not what you know but who you know. Yves owned vines in Clos des Mouches and Grèves, two of Beaune's most recognised 1er Cru vineyards (some would argue the former is Grand Cru standard) and from his cellar in the heart of Beaune he has put together some beguiling wines for many years. We are still able to offer wines from 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
