Pike and Joyce, Adelaide Hills, South Australia

Pike and Joyce wines arose through a partnership of two south Australian families. The Pike's have been established wine-makers for many years, while the Joyce family have been longtime horticulturalists. Together with their different skills they have established an 18 hectare vineyard in South Australia. The site was old apple and pear orchards on north and east facing slopes with ideal gravelly clay and loam soils, ideal for cool climate varietals.

Their wines are made with Old World techniques, but incorporate modern Australian thinking. To us at Edward Parker Wines, these wines highlight how well wines can be made by the Australians. The 2005 Chardonnay has received many plaudits from customers and journalists a-like.
