The ‘beautiful insolent one’ is made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet Franc and is found to the south of Bordeaux below the Côtes de Duras. It’s a fantastic all-rounder but will go especially well with the Easter lamb.

A single parcel of sauvignon blanc which we persuaded Paul Uhart, the owner of Lavanau, not to blend into his Blanc Sec as we thought it rather special. Very crisp, very clean, with excellent balance between fruit and acidity. It has a lightness of touch which gives it surprising elegance. Perfect to drink on these lighter evenings.
