August Wine of the Month - Chateau Unang, Cotes de Ventoux

This month we wanted to offer something from the outstanding Ch. Unang, however we couldn’t choose a specific wine as they are all as good as each other! Therefore this month we are offering not one, but three wines at a 10% discount. These wines are all very easy drinking; both the white and rose great for the warmer summer days and the red because, lets face it, the British climate isn’t exactly Mediterranean!

Ch. Unang lies among the foothills of Mont Ventoux, in the heart of Provence. Here James and Joanna King create a range of wines that give full expression to the exceptional terroir at Château Unang, situated in the southern Rhône within the Côtes du Ventoux appellation. The varieties of red grapes, accounting for 90% of the vineyard, are typical of the Rhone valley: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsault. The varieties of white grapes, located close to the valley floor, are: Roussanne and Clairette.

‘Pink’ is the word. Its striking colour and raspberry nose are followed by good fruit presence in the mouth.

A big aroma with a palate packed with bilberry, sloe, elderberry and blackberry. There is a clean mid-sweetness.
